This Summer a Beta Release of WaWiCo's leak detection and metering solution will become available. A limited release, the Aqua Beta includes WaWiCo's proprietary software and mounting fixtures with commercially-off -the-shelf (COTS) hardware. The COTS materials include a carefully selected transducer and USB sound card assembly, as depicted in the product render above. The software will initially be released for Windows and Linux operating systems.
To install the device is attached to either 1/2in or 1in piping, preferably copper or PVC. The device is affixed to the pipe with two zip ties, after which the sensor unit is ready to be powered via the USB connection. After installing the software, the user can connect the device and computer to begin the tuning period during which the device will learn the "normal water usage" of the household. More importantly this tuning period will enable the device to identify leaks anywhere in the home by differentiating normal and abnormal usage. Within minutes the device will begin to monitor the households water usage, which can be accessed locally via the USB connected computer.
The Aqua Beta will be released in July of 2020 in limited quantity at a price of $99.
